About Shambala Festival

Fiercely independent, sponsorship free, proudly daft - Shambala returns for another round of adventures in utopia.

Pioneering, intimate, and truly innovative, Shambala is as well known for its eco-credentials, family-friendly nature and open-minded crowd as it is for its line-up. 100% renewably powered, disposable plastic free and vegetarian, Shambala have successfully reduced their carbon footprint by over 90% in the past 10 years.

Green achievements aside, this is first and foremost a legendary party - powered by reggae, funk, soul, disco, D&B, electronica, jazz and global sounds. Bursting at the seams with creativity, music, performance and participation - the fact it's known to sell out before the line-up is released says it all.

Each year a theme is set for Shambala's legendary Saturday carnival, in 2025 as voted for by the people, it was 'Pun Intended'

2026 Line Up

2026 is shaping up to be a memorable one with Bob Vylan, BCUC, Goat, Emma-Jean Thackery, Hollie Cook and The Selecter all set to star at Shambala, with a ton of others still to be announced!

About the Volunteer Roles

As a Shambala Festival steward, you’ll be part of the team that keeps Shambala Festival running smoothly and safely. From welcoming people at the gates and checking tickets, to staffing accessibility platforms, you’ll play a vital role in creating a great experience for everyone.

It’s a varied, hands-on role that’s perfect if you enjoy being helpful, meeting people, and being at the heart of the festival.

Shifts: 3 x 8¼-hour shifts.

Impact: For every stewarding shift you work, the festival pays Oxfam for your time. That means every hour you give, is raising money to support communities around the world who are fighting against poverty.

As a shop volunteer you'll help run our Oxfam festival shops, staffing the tills, restocking, and engaging with festivalgoers.

Our festival shop roles open to current shop volunteers, interns, or members of staff with at least three months of experience.

Shifts: One 6-hour shift a day, rotating between morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.

Impact: Our festival shops raise thousands of pounds for Oxfam each summer as well as saving massive amounts of clothing and accessories from landfill. By stocking items tailored to the festival audience, we also show festivalgoers that they can look and feel good without harming the planet.

Practical Information

Parking

Free crew parking is available at all our festivals including Leeds.

Public Transport

The closest train stations are Market Harborough and Northampton where you can get local buses to site.

Crew Bus

As a Crew ticket holder, you'll have the chance to travel to Shambala on one of their crew coaches departing from Bristol or London, and dropping you straight to the coach pad on site (and back to your departure city again on Monday)!

In 2024, Shambala's crew carbon footprint dropped as more of you lot came on our crew coaches or car-shared! Arriving by coach creates just a quarter of the emissions of coming by car, so we’re offering the opportunity to come to Shambala via crew coach again. Crew coaches provide a low-emission and stress-free travel option, allowing you to connect with fellow crew members along the way.

A full packing list can be found here.

When you sign up as a volunteer steward, you will have the option to create a friendship group which lets you link up with up to five friends or family members so we can schedule your shifts at the same time.

Many volunteers join us solo and quickly find themselves part of a warm, welcoming community.

Whether you're in the campsite or on shift, there are plenty of opportunities to meet fellow volunteers and make new friends to explore the festival with.

If you want to bring a child to Shambala, you need to follow our kids procedure - find out more information here.

Once you submit your child application form to Oxfam, we’ll endeavour to secure the relevant ticket on your behalf, as it's not possible for you to buy a child ticket yourself without also buying an adult ticket.

Please be aware that we only have access to a limited number of tickets for children, and we'll let you know if we can facilitate.

If we can secure a ticket for your child, we'll deduct the cost from your deposit.
