Corporate Festival Volunteering with Oxfam

Thank you for your interest in corporate volunteering opportunities with Oxfam Festivals! Volunteering as a festival steward is a fun and rewarding way to support Oxfam while coming along to some of the UK’s best festivals. Alongside your colleagues, you’ll help the festival run smoothly and create a safe and enjoyable environment for festivalgoers.

How do I apply?

Signs-ups for corporate volunteering will be open between 10am Thursday 7th March and 10am Monday 11th March.

To apply, all you need to do is create an account, select the festival you’d like to come along to and pay a refundable deposit to secure your place. If you want to volunteer at more than one festival with us, you can add them one by one.

You will then need to return to your profile to fill out some additional information and book your online training session.

What does stewarding involve?

Our stewarding roles vary across festivals, depending on what the festival needs support with. Some of the main roles our stewards carry out each year include:

  • Checking tickets and wristbands on the gates.
  • Patrolling the arena or campsites.
  • Helping with public inquiries such as directions.
  • Supporting the accessible viewing platforms in the arena.
  • Staffing fire towers, campsite hubs, or information points.

What shifts will I work?

Shift patterns will differ across festivals but they generally follow a similar pattern: 3 x 8 1/4 shifts including a morning, day, and night shift.

Can I volunteer with my colleagues?

To volunteer alongside colleagues who have also signed up to volunteer at your chosen festival/s, you will need to organise a 'Friendship Group' within your profile.

This will allow us to ensure you are all on shift at the same time (although not necessarily in the same place) so that you can enjoy your time off together.

It's very nice just to be with other people. You know you are helping to raise money as well as having fun. I think that's very interesting and a very good way of getting into festivals. So without having to break the bank to come here, without having to worry too much about getting tickets. Just to have fun and just to enjoy yourself."”

Everyone we've met has been amazing. We've come in a group of four friends and we've actually made new friends who we've been with the whole time. We've had a really, really nice time just around camp and just mingling. It’s been nice to be here before the festival kicks off as well.”
