Bringing Children to Festivals

We’re pleased to support volunteer stewards who want to bring their children to certain festivals. Currently, children are permitted at Glastonbury, Beautiful Days, and Shambala.

This page covers everything you need to know about securing a ticket for your child and applying to bring your child with you when volunteering.

Requirements for Bringing Children

Each adult can act as a carer for up to two children under the age of 18.

A designated adult must supervise the child(ren) at all times while you are on shift. This person can be a friend or family member, and may also be another volunteer.

At least one of the named adults must be the legal guardian of the child.

Please note: if the supervising adult is another volunteer, you will be on opposite shift patterns, which means you’re unlikely to spend much of the festival together.

Tickets

Depending on the festival, you will need to secure a festival ticket for your child(ren) before applying to bring them. More info on this can be found below.

Securing a Ticket for Your Child(ren)

  • Ages 13–17: You’ll need to purchase a child ticket directly from Glastonbury during their main sale or resale period. Oxfam cannot help secure child tickets for this festival.
  • Ages 12 and under: Do not require a ticket from Glastonbury, but you must complete our child application form to let us know you’re bringing them.

Child tickets must be purchased via The Levellers’ website. This is because the main Beautiful Days website won’t let you purchase a child ticket without also buying an adult ticket.

Once you submit your child application form to Oxfam, we’ll endeavour to secure the relevant ticket on your behalf, as its not possible for you to buy a child ticket yourself without also buying an adult ticket.

Please be aware that we only have access to a limited number of tickets for children, and we'll let you know if we can facilitate.

If we can secure a ticket for your child, we'll deduct the cost from your deposit
