Day festivals are a great way to experience festival volunteering and the Oxfam community without committing to a week away from home.

How long will my shift be?

Shifts will vary from festival to festival. However, your shifts will be no longer than 8 hours long.

What time do I need to be there?

This will vary depending on what times the gates open at each festival. As an example, some festivals will require arrival at 10am while others 3pm.

You should expect to be onsite around 2 hours before the gates open to the public to make sure there is plenty of time for you to register and attend a briefing.

Gate opening times can be found on the festival organisers website and our exact arrival time will be confirmed two weeks before the show.

Is there parking?

Please check each festival’s info page for parking information. Where there is staff parking available it is very limited and we would encourage people to use public transport or car share and only request a parking pass if you really need one.

Can I camp?

We do not provide camping or accommodation at our day festivals, except Powderham.

What facilities are available?

Every volunteer will get a meal voucher, access to staff toilets and a break area to make tea and coffee.

Do day festivals count towards priority?

Yes, each day festival will accrue 1 point towards priority. Read more here.

Will I receive additional training at day shows?

At many of our day shows, we will be scanning tickets as people enter the festival so you may undertake some training on how to use ticket scanners when you arrive. This is usually only a few minutes and will take place before the gates open but during your allocated 8-hour shift time.
